Local Scholarships

The Nevada County Branch AAUW CHARITABLE TRUST for LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP awards annual scholarships to a female graduate from Nevada Union High School and from Bear River High School; a female graduate of Sierra College working toward a bachelor’s degree; a woman who has interrupted her education and wishes to continue toward a degree. Donations are solicited and are tax deductible.

Nevada County Branch AAUW CHARITABLE TRUST was set up in October 1970 with a donation by Isabel Hedrick as a 501c3 tax exempt trust. There are currently three trustees Barbara Collins, Cheryl Morris, Donna Russell, and AAUW Nevada County Branch co-Presidents Sandy Davison, Nancy Knaus.

LOCAL SCHOLARSHIP TEAM publicizes scholarships, selects recipients, and conducts fundraising activities. 2008 members are Teri McConnell, Pat Pedersen, Lisbeth Noel, Jonellen Goddard, Betty Jane Comegys, Ann Shulse, co-Presidents Sandy Davison, Nancy Knaus, and Trustees Barbara Collins, Cheryl Morris, Donna Russell, Coordinator.
