AAUW also sponsors community programs and promotes the groundbreaking research of the AAUW Educational Foundation on women, girls, and education through its advocacy and action on national and local levels.

Summer Activities

Members are busily putting the finishing touches on the programs and events for the  2010-2011 year. Branch President, Stephanie Norton, and her Board are finishing up the agenda and menu for the first meeting of the new year. All meetings are held the third Saturday of the month, and the September meeting is no exception. Saturday morning, September 18th at 9:30AM, will find members gathering at Hideaway Park in Lake Wildwood, Penn Valley.  With a brunch by the lake, you'll be able to revisit with old friends, meet new ones, and browse the tables/displays set up by the different interest groups of the branch. At that time you can sign up for a group or two that interest you.

Eight girls from Nevada County just returned from Tech Trek at Stanford. This will be our last year for sending girls to Stanford. Next year our girls will attend the camp at UC Davis, another quality college campus in California! As always, the girls had a wonderful time, and they gained valuable knowledge for their future educational experiences. The many hands-on activities helped them to develop skills they didn't know they had!

See the Calendar page for a listing of the year's activities.
